Astoria is an artist’s paradise. Our small waterlogged community is surrounded by natural beauty and fascinated by local artists creating in the area. RiverSea Gallery, a fixture on Commercial Street, represents Fine Art in many mediums as do Imogen Gallery and Brumfield Gallery: all are ‘must stops’ for any serious collector.
Many artists also host studio galleries downtown. For a chance to meet the artist on any given day, try Paul Polson’s Studio & Gallery or Janet Hutching’s West Coast Artisans both on 10th Street near the River. Oscar d’Masi has a studio and gallery on Commercial just across from The Art Stall which features over two dozen artists work alongside the owners.
If all this art talk is making you hungry, stop by the food trucks at 11th and Duane Street. They just happen to be right next to a major art hub! The Van Dusen Building at 1010 Duane Street houses the gallery space for Astoria Visual Artists, Audrey Long Ceramics, and Cadmium Gallery.
Mark your calendar for 2nd Saturday Art Walk every month from noon to 8pm. Gallery owners hang new exhibitions, bring in artists for discussion, and live music spills onto the sidewalk.
