ADHDA partners with Oregon Main Street to provide support, technical assistance, and a framework for downtown revitalization. The 4-Point Main Street Approach, which helps guide our organization. It is a proven, comprehensive strategy for commercial historic district revitalization and guides our committee work in the areas of Organization, Promotion, Design, and Business Development.
The Organization Committee’s focus is to create community ownership and support for a sustainable and viable downtown through fundraising efforts, membership drives, volunteer recruitment and tracking, and financial management. These tasks are essential to the success of our organization. This committee also offers support to the Board of Directors and Committee Chairs.
The Organization Committee meets the first Monday of the month at 2:30 pm in the board room of the Columbia River Maritime Museum.








The Promotion Committee’s goal is to promote the historic district as a center of community activity through seasonal retail events and image development campaigns to encourage customer traffic and shopping local. The Promotion Committee works with media and marketing outlets to keep downtown shoppers, investors and visitors abreast of happenings and activities.
The Promotion Committee meets the third Thursday of the month at 9:00 am at Lucy’s Books, 951 Commercial St.





The Design Committee’s goal is to create a vibrant community environment while preserving the character of historic downtown Astoria. This includes street improvements, landscaping, banners, lighting improvements, historic building rehabilitation and more.
The Design Committee meets the third Thursday of the month at noon on Zoom.








The goal of the Business Development (Biz Dev) Committee is to promote vibrancy and prosperity in the downtown core through business development that respects the character and needs of the greater community. The Biz Dev Committee analyzes the current market forces to develop long-term solutions and to encourage development downtown, hosts outreach and educational opportunities for both business/property owners and the general public.
The Biz Dev Committee meets the second Tuesday of the month at 8:30am in the board room of either Lewis and Clark Bank or Umpqua Bank.
