New Sunday Market Interactive Map

2023-05-31T15:04:22-07:00May 31, 2023|Featured, News|

Sunday Market has a new interactive map that allows customers to find a specific vendor or just review who will be at the market each week. The map is finalized each week by Friday for easy weekend planning. To use the map, click on a vendor and their location lights up on the map, or choose a location and the vendor is highlighted in the list. Vendors have the opportunity put in a picture or their logo and a description of their business, plus social media links, which are viewable when their business name is highlighted.  We think it is awesome, check it out here!  https://www.astoriasundaymarket.com/vendors

ADHDA Secures $200k Grant for the Liberty Theater Building

2023-05-31T15:00:35-07:00May 31, 2023|Featured, News|

ADHDA has secured a $200,000 grant from the Oregon Main Street Revitalization program.  The grant will match funds, up to $200,000, to replace the failing roof on the Liberty Theatre building complex, and fundraising is underway.  Replacing the roof will be done in compliance with state historic preservation standards and will prevent further water intrusion and degradation to the 1925 building.  The roof replacement is one part of nearly 3 million dollars’ worth of maintenance planned for the theatre, including weatherization and repairs to the building façade, and updates to performance areas.
The Oregon Main Street Revitalization program was created by the state Legislature in 2015 using lottery-backed bonds to encourage economic development.  The program is housed in the Oregon Heritage Department, a division of Oregon Parks and Recreation.  Grants were awarded to projects that best fit within the community’s long-range plan for downtown vitality and community needs.  An important cultural and economic asset in Astoria’s downtown core, ADHDA is proud to support the Liberty Theatre and the 9 commercial businesses housed within the historic building.
