Did you know that over the past several years ADHDA has had over 1,000 volunteers, contributing thousands of hours of service to our community? From putting up Christmas lights to scraping stickers off light poles, from pouring beer at Brew Cup to filling Coast Guard Welcome bags and so much more…we are so grateful to live in a community that cares for its downtown and for each other. Thank-you to those who made it out to Volunteer Appreciation Night at the fabulous Obelisk Beer Co. with pizza provided by the Fort George Brewery and music by the Hackles. It was an honor to present this year’s awards to those who consistently go above and beyond for their community, including:
Patsy Oser: Pat Award: We thank you from the bottom of our ADHDA hearts for years of dedicated volunteer hours, compassionate leadership, creative inspiration and invaluable support!
Will Rose: High and Low Award (President’s Award): Whether at the top of a ladder putting up Witches, or down on the sidewalk replacing purple tiles, we thank you for being willing to jump in and get the work done.
Janet Hutchings: Step Forward for the Good of the Order Award: Thank-you for serving as the ADHDA’s board president during a time of rebuilding, for volunteering countless hours on committees and at events, and supporting the organization and its mission.
Mark Hutchings: Witch Doctor Award: Thank-you for giving Mitch’s Witches some much needed stitches, repairing their britches, and giving them flight through downtown Astoria every October.

Join us for Spring Love Your Streets Saturday April 20th from 9am to noon! It’s going to be a big event this year, and we will need as many volunteers as we can get. Help us plant flowers, clean up graffiti, scrape stickers and beautify downtown. So much of what makes downtown Astoria incredible is the proactive support of our community members.
Come out and sign up to volunteer here: https://signup.com/go/ccRpurk We will be meeting at the Garden of Surging Waves at 9am!
Our 2024 Downtown Shopping, Dining & More maps are done! We really appreciate all of the feedback to help us to get them as accurate as possible. Our downtown is dynamic and we know things will shift, change, move, etc but we hope you find these helpful. Anchor Graphis will be printing them, so we’ll be sure to make copies available in time for the holiday season. Interested in receiving a stack of maps? Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org – you can also print them directly from the website on either our Shopping or Dining pages. A huge thank-you to the Columbia River Maritime Museum for sponsoring the printing!
