Downtown Astoria with Rainbow

The People That Help Make Downtown Astoria Work

Established in 1986

Who We Are

We were founded with a single mission:

"To preserve and advance historic downtown Astoria’s culture and character through inspired partnerships and community engagement to support a vibrant and resilient economic future for all Astorians."

ADHDA is the central nonprofit behind downtown Astoria's revival. Founded in 1986 at a moment when the city's traditional industries were in decline, we were built on a simple belief: that historic preservation and economic vitality are not competing priorities. They are one in the same.

Astoria Is One of America's Best Main Streets

Today, we are a nationally accredited Main Street community managing 38 blocks of one of the most historically significant downtowns on the West Coast. We run the Sunday Market, produce the monthly Artwalk, secure historic preservation grants, and manage 6 volunteer-led committees which help do the everyday work that keeps downtown Astoria alive and welcoming to everyone who lives in, works in, and visits our town.

Committees

The ADHDA has 6 hard-working committees which meet monthly to tackle the many events and projects that happen throughout the year. We could not accomplish all the amazing things we do without their dedication and effort. Interested in getting involved?
