Serving Your Community
The Astoria Downtown Historic District Association is seeking 4 qualified individuals to serve a 3 year term on our Board of Directors. Our organization has a robust Board of Directors consisting of a minimum of 9 and a maximum of 12 members. Our board is made up of individuals who have a passion for the continued success of downtown Astoria. The board is the steward of the mission and help to set the pace and direction the organization is heading.
The Commitment
Those who are appointed to the Board of Directors are agreeing to serve a 3 year term. Our board meets in the evening on the 2nd Monday of each month for a business meeting. In addition, we ask that each board member serve on one of our 6 committees and be a regular attendee to those meetings. We strongly encourage board members to attend the ADHDA General Meetings on the 1st Friday of the month to be an active part of the discussion in our community. We also ask that each board member make a reasonable contribution to the ADHDA in the way they see fit.
The Benefit
The ADHDA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with 40 years of experience in shaping the historic downtown. By serving on our board, you take a front row seat in the process. We are very lucky that we have a strong staff to move the work forward which allows the Board of Directors to focus on the "big picture". We at the ADHDA like to work hard, play hard. We're fun! We run a number of family-centered community events, programs like the Astoria Sunday Market and 2nd Saturday Artwalk, and so much more. As a board member, you get to help shape these programs and help us to "be the change we want to see".
