Love Your Streets: How Downtown Astoria Shows Up for Itself
Twice a year, something simple and important happens in downtown Astoria. People show up with gloves and gardening tools and spend a few hours taking care of the place they love. No agenda, no ceremony. Just neighbors putting in the work.

What It Is
Love Your Streets is ADHDA's community cleanup event, held every spring and fall throughout the 38-block historic district. Volunteers spread out across downtown pulling weeds, picking up litter, removing graffiti, planting flowers, and doing the small maintenance tasks that keep the district looking like the remarkable place it is.
It is not glamorous work. But it is necessary and there is something genuinely satisfying about doing it together.
Why It Matters
Downtown Astoria's character is built from details. The purple glass tiles in the sidewalks. The restored facades on Commercial Street. The planters and the banners that line our city streets. None of that maintains itself.
A downtown that looks cared for tells everyone who walks through it that the community behind it is paying attention. It signals to visitors that this is a place worth exploring, to business owners that this is a place worth investing in, and to residents that the people around them give a damn about where they live.
Love Your Streets is how we put that signal out twice a year in the most direct way possible.
